My Story

Doncaster based Artist for over 20 years, Chris Teal has developed her artistic career from studying with the OCA, teaching all ages and abilities, group demonstrations, and numerous freelance workshops including WX Wakefield Exchange, Leeds Playhouse, DGLAM, Rotherham Children's Capital of Culture,East Ridings Libraries

through to solo Exhibitions in her fully equipped Fenwick studio. Also featuring several of her works at the Wakefield Art Walk and the D31 Art Gallery in Doncaster and achieving an award for her contribution with her large-scale acrylic portrait of a Masai woman titled ‘Nolyaplya’.

Chris’s passion for Art comes from the natural environment in all forms, from dilapidated barns to giraffes, her chosen media is acrylic on canvas or watercolour. Her garden also often inspires many of her works. However, she recently has been experimenting with mixed media collage along with pastels and decaying leaves. An active professional member of the SAA in Newark and a charity worker for the Alzheimer’s Society (which is close to her heart), Chris is a great believer in promoting all forms of art to support mental health in her local community and passing on her skills to others.
